The Main Character Book started with a birthday present that didn't exist. We wanted to give someone we love the kind of gift that stops the room: not another candle, not another gadget, but proof that somebody had really seen them. The gift we had in mind was a comic book where they were the hero. Their face. Their job. Their catchphrase. The habit everyone teases them about, immortalised in glorious full colour. Nobody made it, so we built the thing that could.

Here's how it works behind the curtain. You tell us about them: the funnier the details, the better. Our story engine writes a comedy comic that could not belong to anyone else, and our illustration engine draws them into every single panel from one photo. Then a human editor reads every page before anything gets printed, because jokes are too important to leave entirely to machines.

Every book is printed in the United Kingdom on proper comic paper, and the digital edition lands in your inbox before the printed copy arrives, so the gift is never late even when you are.

We believe the best presents are a little bit absurd and completely personal. If a book of ours doesn't make someone laugh out loud, we consider that a bug.
