The Main Character Book ("we") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights under UK GDPR.

What we collect

To create your book we collect the recipient's first name, your answers to the quiz questions, your email address, a photo you upload, and your delivery details at checkout. Our store runs on Shopify, which processes payment and order data under its own privacy policy.

How we use it

Your quiz answers and photo are used for one purpose: creating your personalised comic. The photo is processed by our illustration technology, which includes trusted third-party AI image-generation providers acting as processors on our behalf. Your email is used for order updates, delivery of your free digital edition, and, only if you opt in, occasional marketing.

Photo retention and deletion

Photos are stored securely while your order is in progress and deleted after fulfilment is complete. You may request earlier deletion at any time by emailing gift@themaincharacterbook.com, and we will also delete the generated artwork on request.

What we never do

We never sell your data. We never use your photo to train AI models. We never use your photo or your book in advertising without your explicit permission.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to run the store and, where you consent, analytics and advertising cookies (such as Meta Pixel) to understand how visitors use the site.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Email gift@themaincharacterbook.com and we will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).
